Roxanne Rivera-Wiest

Roxanne Rivera-Wiest has over 35 years of experience in government contracting, business development, marketing and communication.
In 1981, she founded a construction company with a $1300 investment that became an 8a certified government contractor in 1991. In the 25 year span of the company, the business grew to a 20 million dollar a year business with over 100 employees in three offices around the state of New Mexico.
Roxanne’s company received the US Small Business Award of Excellence for several years in a row during their tenure as an 8a contractor, and Roxanne received the Female Executive of the Year award from the National Association of Female Executives. Her business was also listed in the top 500 Hispanic owned business in the United States for five consecutive years. She was appointed to several national advisory committees to include the National Advisory Committee on Ergonomics. She was nominated as the only business person on the committee by Secretary of Labor under George W. Bush, Elaine Chao. Locally, Roxanne was named a Woman of Influence by the Albuquerque Business First, and also Top CEO by the same organization.
After publication of her business book – There’s No Crying in Business – How to Succeed in Male Dominated Businesses by Palgrave MacMillan, Roxanne spoke throughout the country on communication in the construction industry and women in construction. She also provided communications consulting to Los Alamos National Labs, Sandia National Labs and Bristol Meyers Squibb.
